The Volt is Bell’s flagship racing helmet. They put these on the heads of the Saxo Bank professional cycling team. In a side-by-side comparison, you might sit this on the shelf right next to the Giro ATMOS. The technology is almost identical, but where they separate themselves is in the fit. Just as a Nike shoe fits different than a Saucony of equal design, so too a “Bell head” is a little different than a “Giro head.” Of note, Bell helmets tend to fit a more “rounded” head while Giro fits a slightly more oval (lengthwise) shape. While the Giro form is arguably the more popular shape in the North American market, we won’t play favorites with genetics. The Bell is there for a good reason and if this is the fit you need, then nothing else will suffice.
