Giro Recreational & Commuter Series Helmets
The following helmets are so similar in design and function that rather than tell each one individually, we’ve chosen to group them into a target user category. Their prices are all $40, save one that is $35. All of these models use an in-mold construction and Acu-Dial fit system. And as I mentioned at the beginning of the section, had the Acu-Dial been around in 1995…oh how happy we would have all been! Instead we were all forced to wear far less functioning helmets for far more money.
If you are a college student, daily commuter or weekend recreational cyclist, trust that in this category you are getting all of Giro’s protection at a price point to fit your budget needs. A self proclaimed geek-of-all-things-bike, my own wife wears an “Indicator” model helmet. I was more than impressed with the design and fit and so was she. Graphically it was also a little more suited for her non-racing tastes. At the same time, my tween-aged son finds graphical tastes in the Indicator to suit his needs.
