Brent is a Northern California wine country local and has been building bikes long enough to know better. He embodies the “one man show” that we love about the “artisan/ craftsman/ romantic” realm of cycling. And he is not a member of the recent fad-boom of custom frame builders, nor is he a member of the circles of frame builders who spend all day on internet forums. Rather, Brent keeps to himself, filling orders and riding to keep his head clear and ideas fresh.
We like Brent for his honest attitude and his fever for making such beautiful bikes that are a pure pleasure to ride. I’ll never say the words “this is the best” directed at any bike – but as a fan of immense quality, design and fabrication, Steelman bikes dwell among the highest and make our bucket list of “must haves.”
